SAR testing is required as one of the certification requirements for telecommunications devices. SAR testing will be implemented in stages, starting with handphone.

What is SAR Test?

SAR testing is a test to measure the intake of radio frequency electromagnetic field energy absorbed by the human body from telecommunications devices. The unit used is watt/kg.

SAR testing is required when telecommunications devices are used at a distance of ≤20cm from the user’s body. The purpose of this test is related to the health of telecommunication device users.
